32”x48” Canvas

A Fleeting Moment “Between the Clouds” at Guadalupe National Park

This was taken in Guadalupe Mountains National Park as my wife and I were hiking to the “Top of Texas,” trudging through the rare Texas snow. I turned to look back at the trail behind us and noticed a small portion of the mountain range was visible between two clouds. I had never seen anything like it before, and it only lasted a few seconds. I kept the trail and foliage in the frame in an attempt to provide better context to the image. I like this photo especially because it’s as if the snowstorm opened a crack to say that sometimes even mountains, with their sheer enormity and scale, can appear to be lifted up to be a part of the heavens.
